The Toyota Safety Sense is therefore a continuation of the most recent integrated technologies in terms of road safety, offered as standard on almost all Toyota models. More specifically, these are parking, active safety, pre-crash and passive safety systems. In fact, Toyota Safety Sense means having the confidence to drive safely and with peace of mind.

Integrated systems

Parking
Always with prevention in mind, Toyota has developed technologies such as the rear cross traffic alert system, the parking assist system and the backup cameras with guidelines. So you can park almost without intervention on your part!

Active safety
To help you with unexpected road situations, Toyota has integrated systems including the blind spot monitor, traction control and vehicle stability control. No more lane departure and wheel spin on slippery roads! You will have optimal control to prevent collisions.

Pre-crash safety
Despite all the existing technologies, a collision is sometimes inevitable. The pre-collision system can help you reduce damages and injuries by activating the brakes to reduce the force of the impact and tightening the seatbelts.

Passive safety
Thanks to a great deal of research and development, Toyota vehicles are equipped with safety systems to reduce the effects of an impact. Airbags, seatbelts, body structure that disperses impact energy around the cabin, headrests reducing shock; passive safety systems protect you at all times.

TSS 2.0
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is Toyota’s newest safety system. Additional systems to those mentioned above are thus added to 2019 and 2020 Corolla Hatchback model, to  2019 and 2020 RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid and to 2020 Toyota Corolla and Corolla hybrid. It will also be available on new models very soon. First of all, it is the pre-collision system with pedestrian and vehicle detection function, both during the day and in low light conditions, as well as detection of bicycles during the day. The lane departure alert system with steering assist and road edge detection. The automatic high beam system. The lane trace assist system and finally the full speed range dynamic radar cruise control system.

TSS-C
The Toyota Safety Sense-C suite has been specially developed for compact vehicles. Currently available on the Corolla iM 2017 and 2018, the Prius C 2017 and 2018 and the Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2018 and 2019. This suite includes three active safety systems: The pre-collision system, the lane departure alert and the automatic high beam. The 2019 Toyota Prius C has these three technologies in addition to the pedestrian detection system.

TSS-P
The TSS-P suite is designed specifically for mid-size and large vehicles, such as the Avalon 2017-2020, the C-HR 2018-2020, the Toyota Camry and Camry hybrid 2018-2020, the Corolla 2018 and 2019, the Highlander and Highlander hybrid 2018-2019, Prius 2017-2020, Prius Prime 2017-2020, Prius V 2018, RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid 2017-2018, 4Runner 2020, Sequoia 2018-2020, Sienna 2019-2020, Tacoma 2018-2020 and the Tundra 2018-2020. This suite of technologies includes the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, the lane departure warning system with steering assist, automatic high beam and dynamic radar cruise control.
